Halkidiki
Halkidiki is a peninsula in northern Greece known for 3 sub-peninsulas that stand out from it, Kassandra in the west, Sitonia in the center, and Mount Athos to the east. The Halkidiki peninsula includes Mediterranean forests giving way to sandy beaches located in sheltered bays, significant archaeological sites including the birthplace of Aristotle, and Olynthos, known for its well-preserved mosaic floors. In this natural pearl, some of the most beautiful resorts in Greece have been established.
Sithonia
Sithonia, also known as Longos, is a sub-peninsula of Chalkidiki, which itself is located on a larger peninsula within Greece. The Kassandra Peninsula lies to the west of Sithonia and the Mount Athos peninsula to the east. Sithonia is also a municipality, covering the Sithonia peninsula.
On the west of the peninsula, build on the area of the ancient settlement Galepos, is the largest city of Sithonia, Nea Marmaras. It was founded by refugees from the island of Marmara in 1922.
